New Year Word Theme Embodied Process

Updated: Jan 8

Sharing my favourite New Year embodied process with you that helps me

create my word and theme for the year we prepare to leave 2023 behind.

Here is how to begin

Allow yourself an hour to move through the process or longer if that’s what you need. Find a quiet space a pen and some paper.

✨1. Reflect on the past year: Consider your experiences, achievements, challenges, and personal growth from the previous year.

✨2. Identify key emotions: Pinpoint the emotions or feelings associated with those experiences. Think about what resonated with you the most.

✨3. Brainstorm keywords by placing one hand on your heart and one on your belly: Allow whatever intuitively pops into your head. Based on the emotions and reflections, generate a list of potential theme words that capture the essence of what you hope to focus on or achieve in the coming year.

✨4. Prioritise your highest values: Consider your core values and priorities. Align your theme words with these values to create a meaningful connection.

✨5. Visualise goals: Envision your goals for the new year. How do you see yourself evolving? What aspirations do you have? Use these visualisations to refine your theme words. Give the words a look, feel, sound and smell use all of your senses.

✨6. Seek inspiration: Draw inspiration from literature, quotes, or role models that resonate with your aspirations. Look for words that encapsulate the energy you want to bring into the new year.

✨7. Narrow down choices: Review your list and narrow it down to a few theme words that truly resonate with you. Consider the depth and significance of each word.

✨8. Test resonance: Say the words aloud and assess how they make you feel. Choose the word that resonates with you intuitively, emotionally, and energetically. Now move or dance and breathe your word into your whole body.

✨9. Set intentions: Once you've selected your theme word, set intentions and goals based on it. Use it as a guiding principle for decision-making and personal growth throughout the year.

✨10. Reflect periodically: Regularly reflect on your theme word and its impact on your life. Adjust your goals and actions accordingly, ensuring alignment with your chosen theme for the year.

Enjoy calling in your word and theme to guide and support you as another year awaits you starting tomorrow.

May you leave behind what no longer lights you up. And call in what turns you on both personally and professionally.
